Alpha 2 v1.1 Update

Gnostaria Alpha 1.1 Release Notes

  • Increased chat distances: talk from 15 to 20. Shout from 35 to 50. Whisper remains the same.
  • Added commands to toggle shout / talk / whisper from command line (/s or /shout, /t or /talk and /w or /whisper). In the near future these will be able to be used for single messages (for example /s Can anyone here me?).
  • Players can no longer run backwards (you will default to walking backwards, but return to running if you move forward).

Alpha 1.0.15 Update

Client:

  • Enhanced GUI fonts
  • Font size for the chat window can now be configured in Options -> Game
  • Can now enter combat mode with the F key
  • While in combat mode, holding the right mouse button activates the defensive stance
  • Misc model issues fixed

Alpha Test:

  • Everyone should receive randomized clothing / armor on login

Alpha 1.0.1 Update

Client:

  • Various performance enhancements
  • Chat window should correctly restore its user-modified position and size when restarting the game
  • Created functionality to allow for client-side animation sequence loading (improves load time and reduces bandwidth useage)
  • Created engine modifications to support 1024 animation sequences (easily configurable to virtually unlimited) -- an increase from about 50
  • Implemented more efficient style update code to ensure that all players are visible

Alpha 1.0.0.3 Update

Client:

  • Failing to connect to the server should now end your session.
  • Changed functionality of T key to CTRL T (this works the same as the enter key, but can be a little faster if you don't want to take your hand off the mouse -- this will likely be more useful in the future)
  • When typing in the chat box you can use the up and down arrow keys to cycle through your message history or press down on your current message to move it down into the history and clear the box (if you need to recall what you were just typing, simply hit the up arrow key to bring it back).

Alpha 1.0.0.2 Update

Client:

  • Added functionality to determine if a connection to the game server has stalled. If a stalled connection is detected, a forced disconnect will take place and you will be returned to the main menu screen. You may need to wait up to 2 minutes for your login session to be cleared if this occurs.
  • Enhanced movement code to better handle diagonal movement situations (forward / backward + left or right strafe) -- new animations for these cases will be available in the future.

Alpha Launch

So the first Alpha was launched on Saturday. Some unexpected last-minute bug fixes had to be done, related to the way the release was prepared. However the initial test has gone fairly well so far.
