Gnostaria Alpha 1.1 Release Notes
- Increased chat distances: talk from 15 to 20. Shout from 35 to 50. Whisper remains the same.
- Added commands to toggle shout / talk / whisper from command line (/s or /shout, /t or /talk and /w or /whisper). In the near future these will be able to be used for single messages (for example /s Can anyone here me?).
- Players can no longer run backwards (you will default to walking backwards, but return to running if you move forward).
- Fixed a bug where toggling between fullscreen and windowed mode with FSAA enabled would crash the game client
- Fixed a bug where hitting escape while the options screen is open would result in the main options window closing, forcing the current window to remain stuck open.
- Chat menu can be reduced in size more for players who want more screen real estate.
- Added new emotes: beam, grit, snicker, stare and wimper
- Added support for emote emoticon triggers in chat. For example, typing a message containing a :) in it will cause the player to smile. These are case-INsensitive (it doesn't matter if they are upper, lower or mixed case). Supported shortcuts are: :), ;), :(, ;(, :D, o.o, o_o, lol, rofl, lmao.
- Added support for chat/command handling in single line. Any chat command inside of a regular chat message can be activated by putting it inside of ::cmd::. For example if you type: How are you today? ::smile:: it will make your character say the message "How are you today?" then immediately smile. While this is intended for activating emotes youc an utilize it to activate any text-based command (for example ::emotes:: would cause it to respond with the emote list.
- Emote list is now sorted alphabetically (/emotes or .emotes to see the list)
- Character selection window now only has a vertical scroll bar when dealing with large lists of characters (disabled useless horizontal scrollbar)
- Fixed the foxtails texture
- Modified the load screens
- Actions that lock movement animation now lock out the mouse yaw as well (for example, turning while sitting or throwing an attack) but mouse pitch (vertical camera movement) is still enabled.
- Hitting enter on the login screen now activates the Login button to login after typing user name and password.
- Movement animation transitions should be improved
- Ground skiing and problems with walk / run animations should be significantly improved (there may still be a few glitches in certain cases, but the major issues have been fixed, especially when moving forward and turning with the mouse)
- Chat box will now start to remove text once it gets too full
- Fixed an issue where dynamic speed modifications would be out of synch with the server due to a problem transmitting floats.
- Movement animations now scale dynamically based on speed modifier.
- Weighted character turning (this should improve overall character handling experience, movement accuracy and help smooth animation transitions).
- The client will now display a disconnection message with a reason for disconnection (For example session invalid, server dropped, etc.) instead of just closing the client without warning.
- Fixed water skiing bug and added new water events (onSubmerged and onSurfaced) to differentiate between being in water and being submerged in water.
